The mighty Megatron is the ruthless and power-hungry founder and leader of the Decepticons. Throughout his life, he has preached about Transformer superiority over all life-forms, that the children of Cybertron are destined bring order to a chaotic universe through conquest. He despises the idea of peaceful co-existence with weak organic beings, that their only purpose in the universe is to be locked into servitude... or die. His philosophy of "peace through tyranny" and his brutal tactics and methods make him the polar opposite of his hated nemesis, Optimus Prime.

When the Decepticon uprising first began, it was to unite the Transformers by demolishing its caste-based regime. Soon, Megatron started planning on a cosmic scale, and intended to turn Cybertron into a gargantuan dreadnought that would swiftly dominate - or annihilate - all life across the galaxies. For centuries, he led the Decepticons into battle against the Autobots for control of Cybertron's resources, which became depleted over the course of the war and the planet was left in shambles. Megatron has since set his sights on Earth and other planets, hoping to harvest their resources and enslave their populations. His plans are always foiled by the Autobots, but he will never surrender and he will not stop until the Autobots have been destroyed and the universe is his to control.

History[]

G1 cartoon and movie[]

Megatron was a descendant of a line of robots originally created by the Quintessons as military products. Unsatisfied with the peaceful state of Cybertron during the planet's Golden Age, he built up an army of like-minded followers that would become known as the Decepticons. They began attacking various city-states across the planet, eventually setting their sights on the capital of Iacon. There, Megatron met a young dock worker known as Orion Pax and duped him into showing him where the city's main energon stores were located. After seizing the energy stores for himself, he turned on Orion and fatally wounded him, leaving the young robot for dead while he and his drone soldiers left with the energon.

As Megatron kickstarted the Great War, his efforts were impeded by the Autobots, a new group of robot warriors led by Optimus Prime who, in fact, was a rebuilt Orion Pax. Despite the valiant efforts of the Autobots to protect Cybertron from Megatron's warmongering, the conflict would drag on for millennia, devastating the planet and depleting its energy resources. Five million years into the war, Cybertron had been reduced to a husk of its former splendor and the Autobots and Decepticons were locked into a stalemate without any energy sources to draw upon.

More Than Meets The Eye[]

With energon resources all but depleted on Cybertron, Megatron and his finest warriors boarded their starship, the Nemesis, in order to seek out new sources of energy. Aware that the Autobots were doing the same with their own Ark spacecraft, the Decepticons followed their enemies and attacked. They boarded the Ark as it was passing by a prehistoric Earth and the fighting on the ship's bridge caused the vessel to go off-course, entering the planet's gravitational field. With both Autobots and Decepticons aboard, the Ark crashed into the side of a volcanic mountain. All Transformers aboard were knocked offline and would remain in stasis-lock for the next four million years.

In 1984, a volcanic eruption caused the Ark's computer - Teletraan-I - to reactivate. The computer launched a reconnaissance probe that scanned several Earth vehicles before it re-energized the Decepticons, with Megatron gaining the ability to transform into a handgun weapon used by the planet's dominant race: humans. After being revived, the Decepticons vacated the Ark and left the Autobots to rust. However, a parting shot from Starscream caused a rockslide that triggered Teletraan-I again, which went about reviving the Autobots without the Decepticons noticing.

Megatron fire

Megatron intended to plunder Earth's resources in order to build a new spacecraft with which to return to Cybertron, carrying enough energon to build the ultimate weapon and conquer the universe. The Decepticons began construction of their new ship by dismantling a power station and converting it into a construction and launch site. However, they discovered that the Autobots had survived after catching Hound and Cliffjumper spying on them. They later attacked an offshore oil rig, but the Autobots interrupted the heist. Despite their enemies' interference, the Decepticons succeeded in stealing the oil and Megatron then destroyed the rig by blasting the main silo with his fusion cannon.

Mtmte2 shermandam

Lacking a proper satellite surveillance system, the Decepticons needed access to Teletraan-I to gain knowledge of Earth's resources. Megatron sent Soundwave to infiltrate the Ark, who used Ravage to tap into Teletraan-I. While they managed to acquire the data they sought, Ravage was captured, though Soundwave was able to inform Megatron of the existence of Sherman Dam. Megatron orchestrated a raid on the dam, ordering Rumble to use his piledrivers to generate a tidal wave to surge through the river and allow the hydroelectric plant to generate tremendous energy for the Decepticons to harness. While the Autobots interfered with this operation, they still failed to stop the Decepticons from getting away with their prize and Megatron was able to best Optimus Prime in single combat atop the dam.

Next, the Decepticons traveled to Burma and took control of the ruby crystal mines there. The Autobots found out about this plan and attempted to bury the Decepticons by using a bomb to collapse the mines. Although the bomb was planted successfully and collapsed the mines, Megatron was able to blast his forces free and they fled with the energon cubes they had produced from the harvested ruby crystals.

After Ravage escaped from the Autobot base, he returned to the Decepticons and informed Megatron of a rocket base containing a large stockpile of fuel. He also informed Megatron of an Autobot scheme to trick the Decepticons into attacking a fake rocket base created by Hound's holographic projection abilities. Megatron built a number of fake animatronic Decepticons with which to attack the Autobots' fake rocket base while the real Decepticons carried out their raid on the real base, plundering the rocket fuel without Autobot interference.

Having completed construction of their new space cruiser, the Decepticons prepared to depart from Earth. The Autobots attempted to stop the ship's launch, but were overpowered and beaten back. As the ship took off, Optimus Prime chased after it using Sideswipe's rocket pack, but Megatron used the cruiser's gun battery to shoot the Autobot commander out of the sky. While his arch-enemy was defeated, Megatron had one more problem to deal with: Starscream had decided to usurp his command and had aimed his null-ray rifle at him. As the two Decepticons stared each other down, the Autobot spy Mirage - who had snuck aboard before launch - decloaked and fired on the ship's control console, causing the vessel to plummet back down to Earth. As Mirage jumped out with a parachute, the Decepticon ship crashed into the Pacific Ocean. The Autobots witnessed the ship go down and believed the Decepticons to be destroyed, but this was far from the case...

Transport to Oblivion[]

Although the Autobots believed the Decepticons deceased, in reality, Megatron and his forces had survived, and in the intervening months, they repurposed the hulk of their spaceship as a sub-oceanic headquarters. Megatron re-established contact with Shockwave on Cybertron, arranging for the joint construction of a new intergalactic transport system called a "space bridge". After revealing his continued existence to the Autobots in an attack on a solar power plant, Megatron captured Spike Witwicky for use in the first test of the space bridge and reprogrammed Spike's Autobot friend Bumblebee, causing the little Autobot to lure his comrades into an ambush. Despite his carefully-laid plans, everything backfired for Megatron when the Autobots disrupted the test and he was inadvertently sucked through the space bridge.

Roll For It[]

Roll4it megatron antimatter

Megatron survived his voyage across the space bridge in the previous episode and re-materialized on Cybertron. He quickly had Shockwave send him back to Earth, where he led the Decepticons in stealing an antimatter formula from the scientist Doctor Alcazar and his student, Chip Chase. Using the formula, Megatron created antimatter cubes that he used to power himself, transforming his pistol mode into a devastating "antimatter gun". Regrettably, the plan was short-lived: During the ensuing battle, the antimatter reached ignition temperature, and he was forced to dispose of it and flee.

Fire in the Sky[]

Megatron would later devise a plan to produce energon by extracting geothermal energy directly from the Earth's core via a crystalline shaft in the Arctic Circle. During the mining operation, the Decepticons excavated the frozen body of Skyfire, a Cybertronian scientist who had left Cybertron prior to the outbreak of the war. After thawing Skyfire out, Megatron recruited him into the ranks of the Decepticons.

When the Autobots attempted to stop the Decepticons' Arctic operation, Skyfire was employed to defend the area. During the confrontation, Sparkplug and Spike Witwicky fell into an ice floe and Skyfire rescued them, much to Megatron's disgust. Skyfire presented the humans to Megatron to convince them of the Decepticons' good intentions, but the Decepticon leader imprisoned them with the intention of executing them later. Skyfire later came to the realization that he was fighting for the wrong side and turned on Megatron, though he was punished for it after being struck out of the air by Starscream.

War of the Dinobots[]

After an unstable meteorite had landed on Earth, Megatron set his sights on claiming it as an energy source. Optimus Prime had employed the Dinobots to guard it, so Megatron spied on them to learn their weaknesses and figure out how to exploit them. He later approached the Dinobots and used his charisma to trick them into turning against Optimus. While the Dinobots were occupied with fighting Optimus, Megatron stole the meteorite and attempted to extract its energy, but the chunk of cosmic debris later exploded.

The Ultimate Doom[]

In this three-part story, Megatron enacted his grandest plan yet; allying himself with the human scientist Doctor Arkeville, he constructed a colossal space bridge designed to teleport Cybertron itself into Earth's orbit. Using Arkeville's hypno-chip technology, Megatron would enslave numerous humans - including Sparkplug - and have them build the facilities needed for the Decepticons to produce large amounts of energon from the extreme weather conditions caused by Cybertron's proximity.

Prime engaged Megatron in battle just before the Decepticon leader could activate the final pylon of the space bridge, but victory in this battle was Megatron's, as he revealed his scheme to Prime, forcing Optimus to activate the pylon himself or cause Cybertron's destruction. Megatron's forces and mind-controlled human slaves set about gathering the energy generated by the catastrophic forces unleashed by Cybertron's arrival, until eventually, a huge transport full of energon cubes was ready. As Megatron personally flew the ship to Cybertron, the Autobots opened fire on it, detonating the energon cubes and causing an explosion large enough to force Cybertron out of orbit, saving Earth. Megatron proved his preternatural durability yet again by surviving the blast, and he quickly returned to Earth, only to discover that Starscream and Doctor Arkeville had formed an alliance.

Countdown to Extinction[]

CountdownToExtinction

To stop Starscream's plan to use an Exponential Generator to destroy the Earth, Megatron was forced to team up with Optimus Prime, transforming into pistol mode so that Prime could use him to fire the generator into space. When the generator exploded, it knocked the passing Starscream out the sky, and he crashed right at the vengeful Megatron's feet.

Heavy Metal War[]

After the Decepticon forces were bolstered by the addition of the Constructicons, Megatron put the builders' skills to use constructing a device that would transfer the other Decepticons' powers into him. With these additional abilities in place, Megatron challenged Optimus Prime to a one-on-one duel according to Cybertronian law, in which the loser would be exiled from Earth forever. The law, however, dictated that combatants had to fight without additional reinforcement, so to hide the nature of his new powers, Megatron dispatched the Constructicons to destroy Teletraan-I, so that the computer would be unable to scan him and realise his breach of the rules. Using the powers of his Decepticons, Megatron easily defeated Optimus Prime, but the Constructicons' were foiled in their mission by the Dinobots, and Megatron's deception stood revealed. Faced with a furious Optimus, Megatron was hurled into a river of lava, but as the Autobots departed, his charred form bobbed to the surface, and he vowed the Decepticons would rise again.

Autobot Spike[]

During a raid on an Air Force rocket base in 1985, Megatron covered the Decepticons' retreat by opening fire on Bumblebee and Spike, badly wounding the young human. While his body was being operated upon, Spike's mind was transferred into the Frankenstein-like body of "Autobot X", and Megatron was able to exploit the youth's resulting addled state and turn him against the Autobots, even allowing Spike to wield him in pistol mode. Unfortunately for Megatron, Spike got a hold of himself and turned Megatron's power on the other Decepticons, winning the day.

City of Steel[]

For his next big scheme, Megatron and the Decepticons conquered New York City, turning the Empire State Building into a fortress which they defended with a fleet of weaponized drone taxi cabs. When the Autobots entered the city, Optimus Prime was captured and Megatron allowed the Constructicons to disassemble him. Though taken apart, Prime remained alive, but Megatron kept possession of his head while allowing the Constructicons to do whatever they wanted with his other parts. Most of Prime's body was rebuilt into a robotic alligator while his arm and ion blaster rifle were installed atop the Empire State Building as a defence turret.

The Autobots would infiltrate the sewers and retrieve Optimus' head before wrangling the Alligaticon in order to restore his body. They then launched an attack on the Decepticon fortress, knocking Devastator off of the tower and retrieving Optimus' arm and weapon. With their defences breached, the Decepticons fled from New York.

Changing Gears[]

After abducting several gold miners, Megatron put them to work on constructing a Solar Needle: a device that would tap into the heart of the Sun itself to produce energon. When the Autobots caught wind of this scheme, they rescued the workers, but Gears was captured. Megatron and Starscream removed a particular component from Gears' body which would not only complete the Solar Needle but turn Gears from a surly, cantankerous grump into an excessively polite people-pleaser who couldn't refuse any order he was given.

Changegearsmegatrontriumphs

With Gears as his willing slave, Megatron completed the Solar Needle, though the machine caused a number of earthquakes while running as well as creating instability within the Sun. The Autobots later came back to rescue Gears and destroy the Needle, but found that both were protected by a forcefield. During the fight, Megatron got the drop on Optimus and took him hostage. He then asked the Autobot leader if he had any last requests. Realizing that Gears couldn't refuse any order - regardless of who it came from - Optimus told Gears to disrupt the forcefield, which Gears happily obliged, shooting the Needle's shield projector and deactivating it. The Autobots were then able to reach the Solar Needle and dismantle it before it caused the Sun to explode. The Decepticons then fled the area and the Autobots were able to restore Gears to his normal, grumpy self.

A Prime Problem[]

PrimeProblem Megatron prime splitscreen

As part of a plot to lead the Autobots to their doom in a crevasse of korlonium crystals, Megatron created a perfect clone of Optimus Prime, which he could remote control from a distance. Despite the Prime clone's blatantly odd behaviour, the Autobots were unable to tell the difference between the two Primes, so they staged several contests in hopes of identifying the true Prime through his skills. Unfortunately, a sharp-shooting test and a race yielded no results, and the Autobots were forced to table the debate and go into battle against the Decepticons with both Primes. To fully complete the illusion, Megatron proceeded to create a clone of Starscream, which his Prime clone then destroyed, convincing the Autobots that it was the genuine article. Unfortunately, Megatron promptly blew his ruse by dismissing Spike's safety as unimportant, and all of the Autobots immediately turned on the clone and blew it to smithereens.

Dinobot Island[]

In this two-part episode, Megatron sent Soundwave to spy on the Autobots, thereby learning of a mysterious island surrounded by abnormal energy waves. When the Dinobots left the Ark for the island, Laserbeak was dispatched to follow them and investigate the location. Laserbeak's findings revealed that this "Dinobot Island" not only sported a population of living dinosaurs but was also a paradise of primordial energy sources such as volcanic vents and tar pits. The Decepticons then traveled to the island to plunder its energy. When the Dinobots tried to stop them, Megatron startled a herd of dinosaurs into a stampede, forcing the Dinobots into a tar pit where it was believed they perished.

As the Decepticons continued to defile the island, temporal rifts began opening across the world which the Autobots then had to deal with, chasing whatever beings emerged back through before the warps closed up again. Realizing that Dinobot Island was the source of the problem, Optimus Prime led a team of Autobots to investigate. There, they encountered the Decepticons and battle erupted, with the Decepticons seemingly winning. The tide would turn when the Dinobots emerged from the tar pit they had been forced into and they used Megatron's tactic against him, rallying several dinosaurs and sending them to charge the Decepticons. Overwhelmed, the Decepticons fled and the Autobots re-dispersed all of the energy they had harvested from the island, thus putting an end to the temporal disruptions.

Microbots[]

After discovering the wreckage of the Nemesis in South America, Megatron retrieved the broken ship's power source, the Heart of Cybertron, which he then installed into his own body. When the Autobots arrived in the area, they found that they were too late in stopping Megatron from obtaining what he wanted and the Decepticon commander demonstrated his new power by casting destructive energy blasts from his fingertips, driving his enemies off.

Drunk megatron

The following night, the Decepticons preemptively celebrated their victory over the Autobots by getting overcharged (drunk) on some high-octane energon. In a drunken stupor, Megatron began rambling about the "good old days" on Cybertron before blacking out. While he was unconscious, the Autobots Perceptor, Brawn and Bumblebee had shrunk themselves down to microscopic size in order to infiltrate Megatron's body and disconnect the Heart of Cybertron, which had become unstable. Their mission was successful and they managed to remove the Heart just as Megatron launched an attack on the Ark, robbing him of his power mid-attack.

Megatron's Master Plan[]

Seeking to exploit the gullibility of humankind, Megatron entered into a partnership with the human politician Shawn Berger, promising him control of Central City if he would help Megatron "expose" the Autobots for the villains they truly were. Megatron tricked Berger into believing the Autobots had ransacked an oil field by disguising the Decepticons with costumes, and the tape "proving" the Autobots' evil deeds was unveiled to the public. Found guilty in a court of law, the Autobots were exiled from Earth, and Megatron secretly reprogrammed their ship's navigation computer to send them not back to Cybertron, but into the heart of the Sun.

Megatron played nice for a little while, joining in a parade and a television interview, but it was during the latter that he revealed his deception and announced his intention to conquer the planet. Central City immediately fell under his control and was turned into a huge work camp dubbed "Megatronia One", but soon, the Autobots (who had survived their plunge into the Sun thanks to Trailbreaker's force field) returned to Earth to clear their names and stop Megatron's master plan.

Kremzeek![]

MegatronandKremzeek

While conducting an experiment, Megatron inadvertently wound up creating the demented energy imp known as Kremzeek. Megatron released Kremzeek into the Autobot base so that he could cause havoc, keeping the Autobots occupied while he tested the Decepticons' new energy magnet off the coast of Japan. However, Megatron had not anticipated that Kremzeek would follow him to Japan and wind up destroying their operation there.

Triple Takeover[]

Megatron fell victim to betrayal by Starscream, Astrotrain and Blitzwing, and was frozen solid in a subterranean chamber by absolute zero degree molecules. As luck would have it, the chaos caused by the trio's attempts to take control of the Decepticons caused a flash flood that destroyed the chamber and freed Megatron, and he took on all comers to retake his leadership position.

The Key to Vector Sigma[]

After failing to steal a shipment of experimental super-fuel, Megatron came to realise that the Autobots held dominion over the roads and decided to level the playing field. After sending Rumble to steal several motor vehicles, Megatron converted them into his new ground assault group: the Stunticons. In order to make them more effective warriors, he took them to Cybertron in order for them to be granted personalities by the mega-computer Vector Sigma.

In order to reactivate Vector Sigma, Megatron required its primary circuit-key. The Decepticons stole the key from Alpha Trion's lab before descending into Cybertron's core where Vector Sigma was located. Along the way, they encountered an army of indestructible Centurion droids, but with the Key to Vector Sigma, Megatron found that he could control them and commanded the drones to destroy the Autobots when they inevitably followed.

Megatron ultimately succeeded in his goal of giving life to the Stunticons after reaching Vector Sigma. Once the deed was done, he led the Stunticons back to Earth and allowed them to wreak havoc. He also took the Key to Vector Sigma to Earth where he discovered it had the unusual effect of de-energizing matter and converting it to metal. He attempted to use the Key to turn Earth into a new Cybertron, but the Autobots and their new air combat team - the Aerialbots - managed to defeat the Stunticons in battle and destroy the Key, putting an end to Megatron's scheme.

War Dawn[]

Megatron soon sought to dispose of the Aerialbots by sending them back to the dawn of time using the Kronosphere time machine, but an Autobot attack disrupted the process, and the Aerialbots wound up on Cybertron nine million years in the past. There, they saved Orion Pax from dying at Megatron's hands, making Megatron–who was the reason for the Aerialbots being sent back in time–unwittingly responsible for the creation of his greatest enemy.

Cosmic Rust[]

Rusted megatron

While investigating the planet Antilla, Megatron discovered a new "Lightning Bug" weapon, but also fell victim to the deadly disease Cosmic Rust. Autobot scientist Perceptor was captured and brought to Decepticon Headquarters to diagnose him, and he offered a cure in the form of his newest invention, Corrostop. With the Decepticons protected by Corrostop, Megatron unleashed Cosmic Rust upon the Autobots, exacerbating its effects with the Lightning Bug. Events culminated at the Statue of Liberty, where the stricken Autobots found the strength to overcome the Decepticons and destroy Megatron's new weapon.

Starscream's Brigade[]

After another failed coup by Starscream, Megatron reached the end of his rope and dismissed the traitor from the Decepticon ranks. When news then came in from Shockwave that the personality components of the political dissidents known as the "Renegade Decepticons" had been freed from imprisonment on Cybertron, Megatron suspected the Autobots were responsible, but he soon learned that Starscream had done the deed and used the components to create an army of his own, the Combaticons. Megatron could not stand up to the power of the Combaticons' combined form of Bruticus, and he was forced to hand power over to Starscream...just before Menasor blindsided Bruticus and saved Megatron at the last minute. Megatron then exiled Starscream and the Combaticons to an asteroid in space, but they would return to enact their vengeance sooner than he thought.

The Revenge of Bruticus[]

While supervising an Insecticon rampage on Earth, Megatron received a communication from Starscream informing him that the Combaticons had rewired the space bridge and were using it to hurl the Earth into the Sun. Once again, Megatron and Optimus Prime were forced to join forces to stop the Combaticons, but first, both leaders had to donate some of their own parts to repair the damaged space bridge control panel. After a pitched battle on Cybertron, Bruticus was defeated, and Optimus Prime believed he witnessed Megatron destroying the giant warrior with a blast from his fusion cannon. In truth, the whole scene had been a holographic illusion masterminded by Starscream, who gave Megatron the defeated Bruticus's body. Planning to reprogram the Combaticons to be loyal to him, Megatron welcomed Starscream back into the Decepticon ranks as a reward for his efforts.

Transformers: The Movie[]

By 2005, the Decepticons had successfully conquered Cybertron while the Autobots had occupied the planet's moons. When an Autobot shuttle departed from Moonbase I on an energon run to Earth, Megatron led his elite warriors in hijacking the craft with the intention of using it to slip past Autobot City's early warning systems and striking at the heart of the Autobots' war effort. They succeeded in boarding the shuttle and killing the crew, though as the vessel came in to land, the hull breach they had boarded through was noticed by Hot Rod, who opened fire on the shuttle once he saw the Decepticons through the breach.

Megs prime

With their cover blown, the Decepticons scrambled from the shuttle and began their attack. Autobot City was transformed into its defensive mode, hardening it from outside attack. After a lengthy siege, the city's defences were broken and the Decepticons advanced inside, but it was then that Optimus Prime arrived with reinforcements from Moonbase I. Megatron made his way towards the heart of the city until Optimus caught up to him, at which point the two ancient adversaries fought in what would be their final battle. Optimus took some considerable punishment in the duel, but was able to floor Megatron. As Optimus raised his rifle and prepared to finish it, Megatron noticed a discarded blaster pistol lying under an upturned deck plate. He turned to Prime and falsely begged for mercy while reaching for the gun, but then Hot Rod arrived on the scene and tackled the Decepticon leader, blocking Prime's shot. Seizing the opportunity, Megatron held Hot Rod as a shield with one arm while grabbing the blaster with the other, taking aim at Optimus and shooting him multiple times. As Optimus fell, Megatron threw Hot Rod aside and loomed over his arch-enemy, savouring the moment of his final triumph. However, Optimus would muster what strength he had left and struck Megatron before he pulled the trigger, sending him falling over the edge of the ruined overhang.

Megatron recreated

After seeing their leader fall, the Decepticons went into retreat, escaping into space via Astrotrain. Unable to get back to Cybertron due to carrying too much mass, Astrotrain requested that his comrades lighten the load. It was decided that the injured Decepticons would be thrown out into space, with Starscream taking great pleasure of personally casting Megatron into the void. As Megatron and the other damaged Decepticons drifted helplessly through space, they were met by the all-powerful Unicron, who spoke to the former Decepticon leader and ordered him to destroy the Matrix of Leadership, the legendary Autobot talisman carried by the Prime. Megatron believed the Matrix to have died along with Optimus, but Unicron knew that it had been passed down to Ultra Magnus. Unicron offered to give Megatron a new body and new soldiers to command, but Megatron refused these terms. When Unicron subjected him to a form of psychic torture, Megatron was quick to change his mind and agreed to the Chaos-Bringer's terms. Thus, Unicron used his vast power to rebuild Megatron into his new herald and servant: Galvatron. With the rise of Galvatron, Megatron effectively ceased to exist.

Abilities[]

  • Invulnerability - Megatron is the strongest and most ferocious of the Decepticons. He has no known weaknesses and every time he has been believed to be mortally wounded, he has returned even more powerful than before.
  • Energon Mace - In close combat, Megatron favours his energon mace. He has been known to use other melee weapons including energy swords, axes, saws, and even his bare hands.
  • Fusion Cannon - The fusion cannon is Megatron's primary weapon and is always attached to his arm. It fires devastating blasts of gamma-irradiated plasma which, at full power, can obliterate entire cities. He can also interdimensionally link the cannon up to a black hole and draw upon the anti-matter inside to power a blast capable of destroying small planets, at the cost of leaving Megatron in a weakened state. With the right modifications, this weapon can also be turned into a telescopic infra-red laser or a high-intensity particle beam cannon.
  • Alternate Modes - On Cybertron, Megatron transformed into a Cybertronian battle tank. On Earth, he shrinks down and transforms into a modified Walther P38 handgun which can be wielded by other Transformers. In the Generation 2 era of the Marvel Comics, he was reborn in a new body that could transform into an M1A1 Abrams main battle tank.
