The Badnik Revolution is an event that takes place in Sonic the Comic. Dr. Robotnik's robotic lieutenant Commander Brutus establishes his own army of Badniks with which to overthrow the doctor and rule the planet Mobius himself. After building up his forces, the rogue commander dispatches squads of monstrous Badniks of his own design to numerous zones across the planet with orders to exterminate all biological life-forms.
Brutus himself leads the charge on the Metropolis Zone, the capital of Dr. Robotnik's empire, where Sonic the Hedgehog and the Freedom Fighters are already fighting against Robotnik's Badniks that are terrorizing the citizens. Badnik battles against Badnik as Brutus' forces swarm all across the zone with Sonic and friends caught in the crossfire. Sonic's friends Amy Rose and Johnny Lightfoot are captured by Brutus and they themselves are turned into Badniks and sent to kill Sonic. Sonic is assisted in battling the Badniks by Shortfuse the Cybernik while Brutus invades Citadel Robotnik to confront Robotnik himself.
Robotnik and his lackey Grimer flee down to the Citadel's basement level where a suit of powered War-Armour is stored. Robotnik dons the armour and challenges Brutus to single combat. The two seem to be evenly matched, but Robotnik defeats Brutus by spraying the robot with liquid nitrogen and freezing him. Brutus' frozen body is turned brittle by the extreme cold and Robotnik smashes the traitorous robot with a single punch.
With Brutus destroyed, his Badnik forces are left leaderless and the Badnik Revolution is brought to a close. The surviving Badniks are all brought under Dr. Robotnik's control.
